From Astro Empires Wiki
MORDOR was one of top guilds of Alpha, and was well known for its roleplay.
MORDOR fought in many conflicts, and prided itself on being one of the most experienced guilds on the server.
The name MORDOR comes from the Tolkien series Lord of The Rings, and, since Tolkien's MORDOR is evil, the MORDOR guild's roleplay incorporates this. All MORDOR players are known as Orcs with only the leadership having specialized titles.
Mordor came to AE from the game 'Mankind', where it was known for being one of the hardest warrior guilds in the game.
Among those that came over was the last leader of Mordor in Mankind, Gothmog Balrog.
He founded Mordor in AE, and it was not long before old Mordor and even old enemies started to join.
With these veteran players in his service, Mordor started to grow, indeed a dark future awaited their kind.
Past Leaders of Mordor
From it's start, Mordor was destined to become a topguild.
Strong core of members, many Mankind people came over and joined Mordor here,
and fought hard and long together or against each other there, joined ranks here.
Many people joined its rank brining it to the top tier.
Mordor long held to a 'stand alone' motto, without official alliances,
but under Paestero's leadership, alliances become more important and influential.
Despite Mordor's experience and core members, the number of victories was always small.
Still, Mordor's ability to coup with losing wars and fleets kept it in top tiers for a long time.
Eventually leading to the Mordor Family (Mordor + CRY + RUE + TPFS, later Mordor + CRUEL + Haradrim),
and a vast network of friends and allies. Mordor was a force to keep an eye on.
Despite it's influence and power, Mordor was long in the decline.
UCorp formed from the strongest battlegroup in Mordor, which took a big chunck out of Mordor's strength.
But even despite that, Mordor kept going strong, but activity was dropping.
Eventually many core members, including Mordor's GM at the time, Paestero, retired and left.
After which, due to failing leadership and poor maintenance of friendships Mordor slipped further and further,
and the once powerful family fell apart.
Mordor suffered many fleet losses at alarming rate, and many friends and alliances giving up on Mordor.
And when those finally did rose to help, Mordor abandoned friends and allies for the promise of peace.
In september 2011, Mordor ceased to be. Eishmo, the last GM, disbanded the guild.
Putting the blame for Mordor's decline on many ..
MORDOR vs OO
Enemies: OO (Octupus Overlords)
Result: Mordor surrender
Mordor's first war in a 'fresh' universe, both sides fought hard.
But OO was able to subdue the orcs of Morgoth.
MORDOR vs RL + 13th
Enemies: RL (later joined by 13th)
Result: White peace
After some tension and words on forums and in-game, Mordor declared war upon RL.
Unexpected, 13th came to the aid of their friends.
And after a reasonable long war, it was ended in a neutral white peace,
after which both sides had much respect for each other.
MORDOR vs NPO + Odd + Trinity
Enemies: NPO + Odd (later joined by Trinity)
Result: Mordor surrender few days after Trinity entered.
After a time of peace, Mordor searched for new guild(s) to fight.
The gaze of Gothmog fell upon NPO and Odd, and war was declared quickly.
After 1-2 weeks of fighting, Trinity came to the aid of the allies NPO.
And succeeded in killing over 50M Mordor fleets in a few days, after which Mordor surrendered to preserve it's strength.
13th vs MORDOR
Result: Mordor victory
After having turned down 13th's request for a friendly war, 13th declared war upon MORDOR none the less.
Even though caught off guard, MORDOR quickly mobilized and started attacking back.
MORDOR saw 13th as friends, and safe to say, was not happy with the way 13th declared even though MORDOR turned their offer down.
The war was an active one, with both sides fighting hard. Most the frustration MORDOR felt was turned into killing frenzies.
After some time, MORDOR started to crush 13th fleets faster then they were rebuilt,
after which 13th surrendered to MORDOR .
Mordor was still quite angry at 13th, and forced them to make a 10M debris pile for their declaration.
MORDOR vs Fellowship
Once again MORDOR was looking for a new war, and expecting their allies to jump in MORDOR declared war on Alpha Team and CGB.
It was not long before 13th, HoA and AoE joined in quick succession to aid their friends.
This was a long, brutal war. Being outnumbered, MORDOR had the advantage of having many targets.
MORDOR was able to stand its ground, and made its enemies pay for every meter they advanced.
After a month of fighting, the war ended in a White Peace.
MORDOR vs CoRM
Enemies: CoRM + EeY (which later left)
Result: Surrender (even though little terms were forced)
MORDOR attacked two former Mordor members in CoRM, Darkness and Czar.
Due to this attack, CoRM and its ally EeY declared war upon MORDOR.
The numbers stacked against MORDOR were hard, and even though MORDOR fought hard,
it was not until EeY left the war (since their goal was to 'even' the fleet advantage MORDOR had against CoRM)
that MORDOR was able to strike back. But it was not long before CoRM was able to show their organizational talents,
and strike back even harder.
However, both sides slowly started grouping their fleets on high jump gates, which began to stagnate the war.
Despite attempts on both sides to attack a JG gathering, CoRM managed to snipe down lone MORDOR fleets.
Eventually CoRM declared war upon BORG, due to them fighting Trinity and bringing in more allies.
Later on MORDOR, BORG and CMD made plans to engage the Trinity jump gate.
Which led to the Hall of Chosen battle, where they united under the DCF banner.
Before this attack, MORDOR made clear to BORG that it was only this action they would do before leaving the war(s).
And thus, after 5 months of fighting and loosing massive amounts of fleets in HoC battle,
MORDOR surrendered to CoRM,Trinity and NPO.
MORDOR and ALLIES vs III + NPO + CoRM + LUE + Min + NGR + URR + SMEG + HUN + U.F.P.
Enemies: III: (¤EeY¤, AzTEC, DT, R.I.P, รς), CoRM, LUE, Min, NGR, URR, SMEG, HUN, U.F.P.
Result: White peaces with terms to prevent another server war , End of E-hate Serverwar is near!! White peace field
After the last war, people in BORG and MORDOR side were bitter off the loss at the Hall_of_Chosen battle.
And when CoRM started a war with RL which RL had little chance of withstanding, much frustration was felt by many guilds.
Eventually much of the frustration and mistrust led to the forming of a super massive alliance including the following guilds :
In total this alliance had a total fleet of over 6 billion, 1100 members and millions of economy.
Many of these guilds either wanted a change in the 'dominance' on the server (CoRM and III bloodpact means a strong power block) or to help RL in their war.
So a big plan was made, in which each guild of the 'enemy side' was target for 1-2 guilds from the BORG-MORDOR coalition.
RL + 13th vs. CoRM
OOBL + OO vs. NPO
CLS + TPFS + SHLD + 13th vs. LUE
RAGEX vs MIN
S.E.A. vs URR
Mordor + Odd vs. -III-
Unfortunately, a spy in Mordor higher ranks leaked this plan to the enemies, which blew the suprise away.
And due to this, the start of the war was without big hits, since the enemy was gathered and waiting.
In the first weeks, Mordor was in full control of A03 with over 800M fleet in that galaxy.
However, due to our good intelligence network and friendly minded people, we caught ears of III and CoRM planning to attack our gathering.
Within 24 hours, all but 24M fleet of Mordor moved out of A03 to the teens, where BORG and 13th were already in control.
Mordor fleets did not venture much out of the teens, and many hits that were planned were canceled due to enemy catching incoming fleets.
After some time, Mordor and Odd merged to improve communication. Ni was already merged into Odd.
And after the merge, Mordor renamed itself to The Odd Knights of Mordor as sign of respect of the guilds present.
ces of Mordor started searching for a new war.
U.F.P. left the war early after suffering some devestating attacks.
Mordor later declared war upon all enemies, uniting the front as planned and to open new possibilities for attacks.
Not much later Borg merged into Mordor as well, after which the guild was renamed to The Nine.
This was a reference to both the Nine Nazguls from Mordor, as all the guilds present (alive and dead) in the guild.
[Mordor]], BORG , Odd, Ni, Odd:, CRY, RUE, thumb, and WCV.
After a few months, due to some internal problems and own reasons BORG left the Nine.
Peace talks were led by Paestero of Mordor, Non Serviam of BORG and Scortwych of EeY, with help of Ferrari of Aztec,
and took well over 3 weeks to complete. As many people on both sides have and had hard time trusting their enemies! After this war, Mordor ended it's relations with BORG. After BORG leadership (Bosk) saying in private chat with other people that he felt Mordor betrayed BORG.
Which is given the long history and sacrifices Mordor made for BORG, simply not true and unacceptable for any Mordor calls friends.
Mordor vs BORG
After tensions kept rising between BORG and Mordor leaderships, Paestero suggested an arranged war between the two guilds.
Enabling frustration to be vented. And vented they were.
In the opening hours Mordor killed several millions of BORG fleet , Opening salvo's

However, as the fleets returned to JG's, BORG awoke and outmaneuvred the Mordor fleets.
Within the next days, Mordor lost over 300M fleet, including two 45M fleets owned by Yo Fore and Paestero,
who were both trapped in recall on the same JG.
With BORG waiting, they both agreed to take down as much BORG fleets down with them as they could.
And as they landed, they fired away until they had nothing left.
Paestero had a struck of luck, and was able to deal out a lot more before eventually crashing last fleet into Von , Recall trap battle

Yo Fore upon landing smashed his fleet into Von's fleet. , Recall trap battle
Before and after this crash, many other Mordor suicided their fleets into BORG fleets to do as much damage as possible.
And after the death of two mayor fleets, and a 3rd underway (Rhymer), Mordor surrendered to BORG.
And later on, as agreed upon before the war, made 2M debris for BORG.
Mordor vs AEgis Blob
In Fall 2008, Cox lead a small group of Orcs to the family guild RUE.
The leader of RUE, Icea, found a small top 50 guild target that he wanted to hit.
Quickly this target was scouted and Cox ran numerous tactics to take the blob.
The attack was always very close and demanded the attention of every member involved.
Leadership in Mordor got back to Cox and Icea about the hit and wanted to do it together.
That very week the Hordes of Mordor moved up to the A40's.
Cox made a barder with the leader of RAGEX to borrow a member in a region close to the blob where the enemy was not watching.
Mordor staged there blob on this gate. Cox lead the Orc Blob to the target planning every single hit on the blob.
Every Orc had a job that was successfully completed.
Mordor successfully killed around 117M AEGIS fleet, which was a moral boost for Mordor after the defeat in BORG war.
After the attack, Mordor offered protection over AEGIS until January 2009.
But this protection was canceled due to other guilds (CoRM and Aztec) protecting and sub-guilding AEGIS.
MORDOR vs NPO
Mordor Family attacked NPO blob in A20's,
after giving them a cryptic warning on forums.
Mordor killed only 80M due to quick NPO response to the threat,
after which Paestero and Zalakwe of NPO worked on terms to make war more fun.
They included a no-go area for Mordor forces, where NPO would be safe.
Eventually this war was ended at request of Mordor due to the forming of Exodus.
Mordor vs Ex
Exodus formed as a response to the AEGIS and NPO hits by Mordor.
III (EeY, Aztec, Shadow Company, RIP) and CoRM formed Exodus,
reinforced by members from CGB and TSE.
Their goal was to teach Mordor a lesson.
Opening salvo's were fired during Christmas, in which Exodus attempted to enter teens where Mordor was.
Mordor responded quickly and was able to intercept and repel the invasion.
Costing Exodus around 50M fleet.
After the war started, Mordor friends started to enter the war at the request of Mordor. Namely:
- : Odd :
As the war progressed, leaders in Exodus who were set to leave the game anyway left the game.
And several other members left game or joined other guilds.
In time, Mordor and friends outnumbered Exodus with over 1 billion fleet.
The war ended when CoRM reformed and called their blood pact with 13th.
Instead of entering full force, 13th convinced Mordor and friends that peace would benefit all.
So a day after a peace proposal from Exodus side was decline, peace was made.
Notable Past Mordor Members
Gothmog Balrog was the original founder of MORDOR. Recruiting many former enemies, friends and allies from MK into Mordor.
He also later promoted Paestero as a diplomat (2nd in command).
His account was deleted however, whether this was due to his password being guessed / lured out or some other technical error, is uncertain. However he used the occasion to put some time into his real life, only to return to Astro Empires after some time in a new account. He currently resides as guild master of [¤KL¤], which has been incredibly successful in membership almost like a mini mordor spin off.
Was the 3rd leader of MORDOR. He is known for his role in MORDOR as a diplomat and a leader.
It is through him that all changes to MORDOR's internal structure and its overall diplomatics are made,
and he is one of the most respected players in the guild, primarily because of his leadership skills,
which have aided MORDOR in the past during other conflicts, especially during the [CoRM] war,
when he assumed many leadership duties. He has a wide experience of politics on the Alpha server,
especially after serving as second in command for 6 months under the leadership of Gothmog Balrog.
Paestero leads from the front, and was one of the first people to lose his fleet at Hall of Chosen.
He has the utmost respect of his orcs, who are willing to smash their fleets into any enemy in his name.
Even when the reasoning behind his decisions is not clear, his orcs always place their trust in him,
and do what he says for the benefit of MORDOR. Paestero currently resides as the Vice President of Situational Degeneration in [UCorp].
Scar Gor Balrog
One of the strongest warriors in Mordor ranks, always fighting in the front lines and regularly leading his own battlegroup (which includes the heaviest fleets in Mordor) into battles.
into battles. A adviser to any Mordor leader, and feared and respected by many enemies.
He is best known for his levi fleet, which at it peak included over 60 levi's.
Paestero sent Scar-Gor to lead the Akeldama (Scar battlegroup + several RL members) to assist the Hordes in their war against URR
In a massive battle, Scar-Gor and his team decimated over 50M enemy fleet, loosing only 16M fleet.
Due to this massive battle, the war ended quite shortly after that.
And in the second serverwar, Hordes join in on Mordor side as a thank you for our help in their way.
Scar-Gor was highly respected in Mordor and was one of the core older members from Mordor. He currently resides in [UCorp]
Another long time member of Mordor. Coming originally from TPFS, Fish Heads quickly gained in ranks within Mordor,
quickly climbing up to the rank of General, in charge of the A20-A29 area. Eventually when the static galaxy-group based system was changed to a more mobile form,
Fish Heads was promoted to Morgoth Commander, making him one out of three 2nd in commands in Mordor.
Fish Heads loyalty to Mordor was without limit, and his battle tactics, without using any form of battle calc are brilliant.
Eventually he created the Ucorp guild to try out being a GM himself, UCorp has been very succesful.
In recent battles, he took out 400K+ fighters on a 20CC, 20pr/15ps base with Battleships and Levi's and Titans.
Loosing only 1M and killing over 2M fleet making over 600K profit, he is envied as one of the finest warriors in Mordor history, but many have been eager to replace him. He currently resides in [UCorp] as it's founder.
Fore, as most call him, was one of the stronger tacticians within the horde of Mordor. He was known for his wisdom on the level of fellow Balrogs.
Not only being known as a ghost to the enemy on the battlefleet; Ghost was known for his extremely high technology and experience points. He wass a very quiet Balrog that was quick to give good judgment and help when needed. He currently resides in [UCorp].
Khamul Nazgul is not an older player of Mordor, He originally came from CoRM/Trinity after Server War 1 & 2 which in both fought Mordor (Ironic), He is well known by sunny his old teacher who taught him everything he knew, he was a valued Mordor Player and many looked up to him, He quickly raised through the ranks for having leadership potential and showing what hes worth. Khamul left Mordor after a disagreement between Mordor 2nd VGM Olde Delaware and Mordor GM Cox. Khamul currently resides as the GM of [CRUEL].
Current Notable Players
Cox is one of the older players of Mordor. He was known in his time in Mordor as the trouble maker for his flashy posts on the forums.
He is known to always accidentally post when Paestero says not to. Known by many to always have leadership potential; Cox lead a team to RUE and then back to Mordor that lead to his infamous "Fleet exercise accident" with the guild AEgis.
The command that he held during that attack led him to become a Balrog within the Mordor Military and lead him to become a fine commander within the Mordor Family. Cox stepped down as leader of Mordor in February 2010 and remains a influential leader and friend to all members in Mordor.
Olde Delaware joined Mordor after leaving the CLS in early 2008 after what could be called a minor political career. After joining Mordor, he remained a loyal Orc through most of 2008 before distinguishing himself in the Mordor vs CoRM war. Answering Cox's call for volunteers in the Aegis raid, Olde Delaware was made the new diplomat of the failed Mordor_Family guild Haradrim in early 2009 and rose through the ranks as a competent leader, culminating with his appointment as High Commander in August 2009. He remains one of the top members of Mordor.
Rasta joined Mordor back before the joined guild feature was even implemented in AE and has remained a constant figure ever since. Distinguishing himself during Cox's reign as Dark Lord, Rasta has been known as an excellent tactician and warrior and is currently a member of higher leadership where he handles scouting operations for Mordor.
MORDOR has had many other famous members, some noted for their skills, others noted for their fighting ability, and some noted for less desirable reasons.
Famous players to have fought for MORDOR include spoon.05, Dazl, Loki, and Akira; of which spoon and Akira had previously been enemies of Gothmog Balrog for over a year.
One Guild Stands Alone
MORDOR goes by its motto,
One Eye to Find Them
One Ring to Bind Them
One Guild Stands Alone (the new added phrase after mordor's defeat by (OO).
(We dont do NAP's/MDP's) - contray to popular belief
MORDOR always has been a fierce opponent of the guilds who make the Web of alliances due to the fact it has been a solution to stop mordor farming AE players,
due to this MORDOR has never made any official pacts or alliances, allowin significant politcal maneouvring to take place.
The NAP's that Mordor has given out were always to former enemies, either by sign as respect, or as mutual agreed enforcing mordor'superiority over surrendered guilds. In some cases the leadership of mordor has used this slant to send members and keep tags on the leadership of the guild to see what they are truly upto.
Even after the Hall_of_Chosen battle, MORDOR's motto has not changed. Even though many have challenged it, some successfully, mordor still believes it is the one and only important guilds in alpha.
Disputably, they count on no-one for their wars. They fight alone.
Other guilds Merging into MORDOR
The CRY warriors were a Danish guild led by Critor, and are some of the most ruthless and feared fighters in Orcish ranks. , Salutes on the battle field
TPFS reformed after the 'first' serverwar (which ended with HoC battle) They were a Mordor protectorate, and later on when CRY reformed became part of Mordor family
RUE began its life as a political party within GA. RUE eventually split off as GA's sister guild, then on its own.
RUE joined Mordor on 21/12/2006 after talks between Gothmog and Icea Geddan. RUE, much like CRY, operated as an elite battle groups within mordor. Critor, leader of CRY, and Icea Geddan shared joint command of the A10-A19 battle group.
RUE reformed as a separate guild on 2/9/2008 as a member of the mordor family. RUE is arguably the most democratic of the mordor family guilds due to them being a republic and holding elections.
Icea Geddan reformed RUE and later merged with CRY into CRUEL in late 2009, ending CRY and RUE's time as members of Mordor. Khamul Nazgul took over leadership after Critor and Icea Geddan retired from AE.
Alliance of Bad Dudes was started after the first fall of TPFS. Beer Jew Was the leader of TPFS Training guild TCFS. When TPFS fell ABD was founded. Alliance of Bad Dudes started out as the Sub-Guild of RUE, After a little while CRY agreed to have ABD as a CRY Sub-Guild. ABD moved up in the ranks from this point on. After getting to Top 30 ABD became the "Unofficial" Mordor Family Training Guild. After the failure of the Mordor Family idea, ABD stood alone once again, waiting to be called on again by it's friends in Mordor. In 2010, the move was made official as ABD merged into Mordor to form one entity.
Was a relatively small guild founded in August of 2006. They came from a Freelancer Mod called Freeworlds hence there name FW. in November after a series of PM's sent from gothmog to the members. Mordor attacked it was then that members went to different guilds including CLS, 13th. Only one saw the way his Fleet was decimated with minimum damage to his attacked that he realized mordor was a better guild then he original thought he joined morder where he has remained to this day he has had many names but the one he keeps coming back to is Jace
